The MIPS layer is designed to reduce the rotational violence transmitted to the brain from angled impacts, absorbing and redirecting oblique hits to the helmet for a real step up in protection. Improved side and back coverage meets proposed UIAA requirements, while strategically placed ventilation ports keep air moving when temps climb. A low-profile suspension system and chin strap keep things sleek, and integrated headlamp clips sit flush enough to avoid snagging on over-the-shoulder slings — handy for alpine starts or sends that run past daylight.
